Lindsey Stein

Teaching

Based in Boston, Lindsey Stein is an emerging oboist with performance experience spanning orchestra, opera, musical theater, chamber music, and studio recording. With three performance degrees from The Boston Conservatory and eight years of conservatory training, Lindsey brings both depth and versatility to her teaching practice. Lindsey offers detailed, thoughtful oboe instruction focused on developing a wide range of skills, including rhythm, phrasing, breath control, tone production, endurance, technical precision, and intonation. Her teaching style blends structure with flexibility—supporting each student’s unique musical journey. Rooted in a traditional, side-by-side “learn through demonstration” philosophy, Lindsey believes in the power of modeling and real-time feedback. Recognizing that no two students learn the same way, she tailors each lesson to match individual learning styles and musical goals, creating a personalized experience that nurtures confidence, creativity, and growth. Whether you're picking up the oboe for the first time or preparing for auditions and performances, Lindsey’s studio is open to students of all ages and experience levels. "Beyond the quiet personality and beautiful tone, her playing shows an individual personality - a voice that is affected by musical ideas, intervals, and the potential of a phrase - and in turn affects us by making us continue to listen to her."
